Enea signs Multicore and Hypervisor deal worth 340 kEUR
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, 3 May, 2011 – Enea (NASDAQ OMX Nordic:ENEA) today announced that it has received an order from a leading telecom supplier valued to 340 kEUR (3.2 MSEK). The customer has selected Enea’s technology for its project where it will be using Enea Hypervisor, built on Enea’s leading real time operating system Enea OSE Multicore Edition. During Q2 and Q3 2011 as well as Q1 2012 the customer has the option to place follow up orders valued to a total of 850 kEUR (7.9 MSEK). The revenue will be recognized during the implementation period.
“Our unique Multicore solution, coupled with new Hypervisor technology has again shown that it is providing great value to our customers.”, said Per Åkerberg, President and CEO at Enea. “This deal underlines Enea’s ability to deliver groundbreaking technology for critical telecom systems.”
Multicore means that the hardware chip has more than one core, requiring new versions of the operating system that can handle multiple cores. The hypervisor technology allows operating systems to co-exist on the same multicore chip taking out the complexity of configuration and software management – while speeding product development and lowering costs.
