Enea launches new professional services packages for accelerating VNF development and deployment at MWC

Prototype, test, port and deploy virtual network functions through an NFV-ready infrastructure configuration

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, and BARCELONA, Spain, February 22, 2016 – Enea® (NASDAQ OMX Nordic:ENEA), a global supplier of network software platforms and world class services, today announced four new service packages accelerating development and deployment of Virtual Network Functions (VNF).

“NFV has redefined how communications infrastructure is architected and how services are deployed, and development requires access to modern hardware, and far from trivial integration and configuration of software platform components”, said Bogdan Putinica, Senior Vice President, Global Services. “Our NFV lab provides a rich set of NFV-ready hardware, supported by experienced engineers that can help you assemble an infrastructure configuration enabling real-world VNF deployments, or even build fully-fledged carrier-grade NFV platforms”.

Customers with high demands on performance and robustness have since long trusted their business to Enea, whose expertise stretches throughout the whole product life cycle, from requirements gathering to development and production.

Operators, Telecom Equipment Manufacturers, and suppliers of VNFs in particular, will find great value in the four new service packages, which encapsulates key Enea capabilities.

  • OPNFV deployments – Enea will build, install, and support a bespoke OPNFV platform, based on the chosen components.
  • VNF factory – Allows customers to focus on development, validation and porting of VNFs, as Enea builds the virtual container they are based on, including management functionality.
  • VNF application services – Enea prototypes, develops and tests complete VNFs.
  • NFV training – Enea provides training programs for engineers in matters ranging from OPNFV to Linux performance, to real-time.

A demonstration is available in the Enea booth (7J30; Hall 7) during the Mobile World Congress, February 22-25, 2016.
