5G Security Risks in SMS, Hybrid Warfare & Role of Government and Aggregators in Securing Networks

Welcome to Enea AdaptiveMobile Security’s video series on cybersecurity in the telecoms sector. Hosted by HardenStance security analyst, Patrick Donegan, and featuring experts in 5G network security, signaling and mobile messaging security.

New Customer Announcement, Fierce Telecom Awards win, and MWC

We will begin by sharing details on our newest customer win. We will also be announcing Enea AdaptiveMobile Security’s attendance at MWC 2022 in Barcelona, and how you can get in touch with us there. Finally, we’ll be discussing the Fierce Telecom Awards and Enea AdaptiveMobile Security’s win in the security category for the world’s first Unified 5G Network Security Solution.

5G Security Risks in SMS

Following the release of Enea AdaptiveMobile Security’s white paper on securing SMS in 5G, our CTO, Cathal Mc Daid, will join HardenStance analyst, Patrick Donegan, in a conversation about the unique security issues presented by SMS in 5G and the challenges that are currently being faced by mobile operators. Cathal will go into detail on some of the reasons we’re still seeing SMS being used in 5G today, and how it works. Lastly, we’ll discuss some of the essential steps mobile operators can take to protect themselves and their customers from the security risks associated with SMS.

Hybrid Warfare and role of government and aggregators in securing networks

We will be talking about some very interesting topics exploring what’s going on in the security space, starting with the potential weaponization of mobile networks in nation state hybrid warfare campaigns. Our expert, Brian Collins, will analyse the role of aggregators in securing communications, as well questioning the partgovernments should play in securing critical telecom infrastructure.

How to secure SMS in 5G?

Securing SMS over 5G involves integrating the legacy technology of SMS with new technologies driving 5G. Mobile network operators need to be fully aware of the threats that could be brought about by this complex integration, and how these threats can be mitigated as we migrate to 5G. Read the white paper to learn more about securing SMS in 5G.
