Enea signs 110 MYEN multicore deal in Japan
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, 25 March, 2010 – Enea (NASDAQ OMX Nordic:ENEA) today announced an agreement with a global IT company, based in Japan. The agreement is worth 8.5 MSEK (110 MYEN) and includes licenses for the real time operating system Enea OSE Multicore edition, the development tool Enea Optima, and related services.
The customer will use Enea's products to develop parts of the distribution network for High Definition TV. Enea OSE was chosen based on its ability to effectively manage multicore and its suitability for distributed environments. The customer is thereby estimating a shorter time to market.
"This is a fantastic deal for many reasons.", said Per Åkerberg, President and CEO for Enea. "The market for real time operating systems is facing a major technology shift where multicore is the area that is estimated to grow the most. The increasing number of deals that include our award winning multicore version of Enea OSE shows the strength in our offering. This win is above all done in Japan where we during the past years have made significant investments in building up the business. To be successful in Asia is a key factor when realizing Enea's long term vision of creating an Enea that is much larger than what we see today."
The total value of 110 MYEN is split between software and first year maintenance to a value of 85 MEYN and consulting services to a value of 25 MYEN. The customer will also pay royalty for each system sold.
