Telenor’s Multi-Vendor 5G Core Standalone Solution with Enea Wins at 2021 GLOMO Awards
Telenor’s pioneering multi-vendor 5G standalone (SA) solution, that included Enea, has triumphed at one of the mobile industry’s most celebrated accolades – the 2021 GLOMO Awards. Hosted by the GSMA at Mobile World Congress and judged by some of the sector’s most prominent subject matter experts, Telenor clinched the “Best Network Software Breakthrough” category.
Enea working with Telenor was part of the world’s most diverse multi-vendor 5G Core stand-alone solution in which the company provided a cloud-native 5G data management system. Telenor’s solution has been a groundbreaking use case of network slicing in action. Enea delivered automated end-to-end encrypted communications from the core to the edge. This provided robust data privacy, a critical consideration for the Norwegian Armed Forces who deployed Telenor’s solution.
According to the GSMA, the award is designed to highlight outstanding innovations that are changing the way how future software-based networks function – leading to dramatic changes in network costs, functionality and/or business cases. Winning a prestigious GLOMO award means achieving the highest merit by peers across the entire digital industry.
Enea provided Telenor with innovative cloud-native 5G data management solutions that included its telco-grade fully secure Unified Data Manager (UDM) to support up to 10 billion data entries at a rate of 1 to 500,000 transactions per second. Enea’s User Data Repository (UDR) and Authentication Server Function (AUSF) also delivered best of breed 5G data management capabilities.
