Enea Wins Global Infosec Award for its Embedded Threat Detection Technology at RSA Conference 2024

Enea has won the Global Infosec Award for “Hot Company in Embedded Security” from Cyber Defense Magazine (CDM), the industry’s leading electronic information security magazine.

Presented in conjunction with RSA Conference in San Francisco, the accolade recognizes the industry value of the Enea Qosmos Threat Detection SDK (Software Development Kit), which enables developers to achieve a two-fold improvement in performance and scaling when integrating intrusion detection into networking and cybersecurity products.

Enea Qosmos Threat Detection SDK tightly integrates Enea Qosmos ixEngine with core capabilities from Suricata, the world’s most widely deployed intrusion detection system (IDS). Qosmos ixEngine is a deep packet inspection (DPI) engine which provides the industry’s broadest and most accurate application recognition, including identification of 4600 protocols and extraction of 5900 types of metadata across enterprise, cloud/SaaS, M2M (ICS/SCADA) and IoT domains.

By deploying Qosmos Threat Detection SDK (TD SDK) with Qosmos ixEngine, solution developers can eliminate double packet processing between IDS and DPI, significantly boosting performance while enhancing threat detection with the precise, granular traffic data provided by Qosmos ixEngine.

Released in September 2023, TD SDK has attracted software developers seeking to integrate or improve network detection and response (NDR) capabilities within a very diverse range of solutions, including critical networks security, network performance monitoring, observability, SIEM/SOAR, cloud firewalls, SASE and SD-WAN.

Mitrasingh (Danny) Chetlall, VP Product Management for Embedded Security at Enea, observes: “The diversity in use cases we’re seeing for TD SDK underscores the extent to which threat detection and response capabilities have become a must-have for all types of cybersecurity solutions today, and even for software whose primary purpose is not cybersecurity. In addition, given ever-increasing data volumes and cloud use, product managers really appreciate of the type of performance gains a solution like TD SDK can deliver.”

To learn more, visit the Enea team at booth 3217 at RSA Conference 2024 in San Francisco, May 6 – 9. The team will be presenting the latest enhancements to the embedded security portfolio:

  • For Enea Qosmos ixEngine: the addition of 100s of new protocols, including categories like Generative AI apps & services, the introduction of a new VPP inline integration, and recent product enhancements in encrypted traffic classification, 1st packet classification, and indicators of anomaly.
  • For Enea Qomos Threat Detection SDK: the addition of new keywords in ruleset expressions, expanded CPU & OS support, and performance optimizations through flexible handling of encrypted traffic, HTTP body inspection, and TCP stream processing.
