Enea signs 3M USD OSE and Linux deal
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 24, 2014 – Enea® (NASDAQ OMX Nordic:ENEA) signs a software license agreement with a global Telecommunications Equipment Manufacturer to deliver the operating systems Enea Linux and Enea OSE together with an OSE Compatibility Platform for running OSE applications in Linux. The total value of the agreement is estimated to 3 million USD over a period of four years. The deal covers software for both ARM and PowerPC processor architectures.
The customer, who develops optical switching equipment, has large software investment in applications built using the Enea OSE real-time operating system, but is now introducing Linux in its system architecture. The OSE Compatibility Platform becomes a technology bridge securing the customer’s software investment.
“We are happy that this key customer expands its trust in Enea and extends an increasing business in our favor”, said Anders Lidbeck, President and CEO, Enea. “The customer is pioneering the OSE Compatibility Platform that allows them, and other industry leaders, to re-use existing code base and keep the architecture intact while minimizing time to market, porting effort and costs.”
The OSE Compatibility Platform provides selected OSE concepts and interfaces within the Linux programming environment (Enea IPC, OSE file systems etc.), which enable existing and new applications to use both OSE and Linux programming interfaces at the same time.
