Polyhedra Evaluations

Polyhedra 7.1 evaluation kits are now available for those considering the use of Polyhedra in a commercial project, for OSE PowerPC, Linux, AIX, Windows, Windows CE and Solaris. To obtain them you will first have to register to indicate acceptance of the terms and conditions of the licence agreement, and to give us brief details of the project for which you are considering buying Polyhedra development licenses. Once you have registered, you will be sent an email confirming this. When the sales team has determined that the information supplied on the evaluation form is sufficient, you will be sent password information allowing you to download the evaluation code.

To evaluate Polyhedra on a platform other than the ones available here, e.g. VxWorks on PowerPC, you will need to contact your Polyhedra Account Manager.

An evaluation system consists of the Polyhedra documentation, and a platform-specific installation kit (which includes an evaluation guide and precompiled sample clients, complete with source code). The programs in the evaluation kits are time-limited, and the programs and libraries are not to be used 'in earnest' for product development or for running live applications. The files listed below are only available to those who have registered for an evaluation copy of Polyhedra - who will have been sent an email detailing the username and password to use - and to licenced customers of Polyhedra (who should register as evaluation customers and then contact us to be granted additional access rights). When you try accessing one of the protected files, your browser will prompt you for a name and password, at which time you should use those supplied to you by email, taking particular care to use exactly the same case, etc., as in the email.

JDBC Kit	A ZIP file containing an installation kit for the Polyhedra JDBC driver - a pure Java library, for use on any platform with a suitable Java engine. Unpack the file into any suitable directory, and refer to the readme.txt file for instructions.
Linux Arm evaluation kit	Complete Polyhedra version 7.1 evaluation kit for Linux Arm. Details of how to install and use the kit are in the installation and evaluation documents (copies of which are included in the evaluation kit).
Linux evaluation kit	Complete Polyhedra version 7.0 evaluation kit for Linux. Details of how to install and use the kit are in the installation and evaluation documents (copies of which are included in the evaluation kit).
Linux PowerPC evaluation kit	Complete Polyhedra version 7.1 evaluation kit for Linux PowerPC. Details of how to install and use the kit are in the installation and evaluation documents (copies of which are included in the evaluation kit).
Manual set, in a zip format file	A ZIP file containing the Polyhedra reference manuals, each of which is in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, for which a free viewer can be obtained from http://www.adobe.com/ for many different operating systems.
ODBC Kit for use on Windows	A ZIP file containing an installation kit for the ODBC interface into Polyhedra. Unpack the file into any suitable directory, and run the setup.exe file to complete the installation process. Full instructions for the use of this product can be found in the Polyhedra ODBC manual available as part of the manual set.
OLEDB Kit for use on Windows	A ZIP file containing an installation kit for the Polyhedra OLE DB Provider. Copy the DLL into an appropriate directory to use. Full instructions for the use of this product can be found in the Polyhedra OLEDB Provider manual available as part of the manual set.

Solaris Sparc (Sun Forte C/C++) evaluation kit	Complete Polyhedra version 7.1 evaluation kit for Solaris using Sun Forte C/C++. Details of how to install and use the kit are in the installation and evaluation documents (copies of which are included in the evaluation kit).
Training course presentation	This is the presentation, in Microsoft Powerpoint format, used in our one-week training course on the use of Polyhedra. The first 50 or so slides have attached notes, and act as an introduction to Polyhedra; the rest do not. The training material is not a substitute for attending a training course, where a Polyhedra expert is available to answer your questions, clear up misunderstandings, help with the exercises and suggest how Polyhedra can be used in your application area. However, it should help in your evaluation if you are unable to attend a course. The presentation, once uncompressed from ZIP format, can be viewed using Microsoft PowerPoint or by the free PowerPoint Viewer available from Microsoft's web site.
