Agreement drives quick adoption of the RapidIO protocol into AdvancedTCA Back planes
CHELMSFORD, Massachusetts, September 28, 2004 - Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY) and Enea Embedded Technology today announced they are collaborating to bring OSE support to Ensemble™, a serial RapidIO™ Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (AdvancedTCA®) development system.
The OSE RTOS is a perfect fit for the Ensemble platform. The built-in support in OSE for distributed, multi-board, multi-processor systems, provides a powerful and user-friendly software interface for RapidIO technology. The building blocks in OSE that help the customer build high availability and fault tolerant systems match the Hot-Swap functionality in AdvancedTCA as well as the upcoming board form factor.
The Ensemble platform leverages industry standards including the high-bandwidth and scalable serial RapidIO switch fabric and AdvancedTCA to enable telecom equipment manufacturers to start their next-generation infrastructure designs.
