GPRS - Protocols and Procedures

Linköping 28/10

Price 16 500
Number of days 2,5

The course will give an thorough understanding of the GPRS protocols and the most important procedures in GPRS. The focus is on the procedures and logic involved in the particular protocols as well as the complete dynamics of the system.

GPRS is a technique for packet-based data communication in the GSM network. Through dynamic resource allocation based on needs, the radio resources are used more efficiently in GPRS than in, e.g., HSCSD. This makes it possible to always be connected to the internet or to the company intranet, but only pay for the amount of data actually transferred, independently of connection time.

Objectives
You will learn what kind of communication that is necessary in a GPRS network, which protocols that exist in the nodes and which mechanisms that is used to solve the problems that exist in packet-based radio networks.

Who should attend?
The course is valuable to anyone who works with development, testing and operation of GPRS networks.

Previous knowledge
Basic knowledge of GPRS.

Course Material
The course literature is in english and has been developed in-house at Enea.
