SA Forum Conformant HA Middleware
Enea Element is a comprehensive suite of services that provides a foundation for building and managing complex, distributed, high-performance, fault-tolerant applications.
It provides an open architecture middleware solution for distributed systems, leveraging Enea LINX for reliable distributed IPC.
Element has many advantages:
- SA Forum - Conformant Availability Management Framework (AMF)
- Industry’s only complete software In-Service Upgrade support
- Reliable, mature platform tightly integrated with leading hardware platform vendors such as Kontron, Radisys, and IBM
- Complete embedded management framework through partner Tail-f Systems, the leading supplier of XML-based network management software (ConfD)
- Industry’s only support for DSP farms and subsystems.
Core services
Among it's core services Element provides Publish/subscribe and flow control messaging models. The redundant event log delivers a single, time-synchronized event trace for the entire distributed system. Pinpoint troubleshooting is enabled by flexible filtering, sorting and storage options.
The system monitor provides run-time visibility into application status and behavior. Porting to various operating systems, CPUs and chassis architectures is facilitated by operating system and hardware platform abstraction layers.

Additional services
- High availability - Service Availibility Forum (SA Forum) conformant availability management framework
- Software management/in-Service upgrade services
- Chassis management for hardware inventory, provisioning, monitoring and alarms
- Embedded management/network management
It also facilitates the design of portable software that can be reused across multiple generations of products and take advantage of the latest hardware upgrades.
